Are you interested in volunteering to help maintain the rights of way in the parish?
Since 2022, having recognised the need to do something about the overgrown rights of way running through the parish, OPC set up a conservation volunteers working group to support the work of the Hampshire Countryside Service, which has overall responsibility.
Now entering its forth year, the volunteers’ group is going from strength to strength. The group usually meets once a month on a Saturday morning between 10am and noon throughout the Spring to Autumn period. As well as targeting the most used, or most overgrown, rights-of-way – with the intent being to open up the beautiful countryside around the Parish and make it accessible for all – we also look to take of minor projects, such as bridge-building and so forth.
Volunteering is good for the soul, and fresh air and exercise is great for the body. So, if you are interested, there’s no need to book, just watch this space for details of where to meet.
The next series of conservation volunteer days will start in late April 2026.
