BOOK EXCHANGE TEMPORARY CLOSURE
Building works are starting in the Bridewell in Odiham on Wednesday December 14th which means the Book Exchange has to close temporarily.
We will be open Thursday 8th at 2 – 4.30 pm; Saturday 10th at 10 am – 12.30; and Monday 12th at 2 – 4.30 pm.
Please do NOT bring new donations for now as we have to clear shelves rather than add to them! If you would like fresh reading and have none of our books to exchange, please just come and collect some books.
We are so sorry for the short notice.
As we know when we can re-open, we will update this page, but it will not be before Christmas, so may we take this opportunity to wish you a very merry Christmas.
Odiham Book Exchange offers a wide selection of carefully quality-controlled books: a wide range of adult fiction popular and more serious modern fiction, romance, crime, thrillers and some classics. For children we offer both fiction and non-fiction and we have a large selection of teen fiction. We offer talking books and large print books.
How to join…..
Anyone can become a member of Odiham Book Exchange. Please download the membership form and bring with you on your first visit or alternatively we have membership forms in the Book Exchange for you to complete during your first visit.
All members will be issued with a membership card for the minimum donation of £1.00 per adult card. The cards will be free to those members under 18 years. Please bring your donation in cash as cards are currently not accepted.

UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE WE CANNOT ACCEPT BULK DONATIONS OF BOOKS
Due to lack of space we can only accept books that are being exchanged. We suggest you keep hold of large quantity of books as you may wish to donate them to the Book Stall at the Parish Fete.
How does the Book Exchange work:
The Book Exchange works by exchanging between one and six books you bring with you for the same number of your choice, up to a maximum of six books per member at each visit.
We will accept all types of children’s books including both fiction and non-fiction. For teenagers and adults we accept fiction,. talking books and large print books. All in good condition please.
Due to lack of space we can only accept books that are being exchanged.
There are no return dates for books you have exchanged, so no fines.

How to access Hampshire Libraries…..
As a member of the former Odiham library you are able to use all Hampshire public libraries and the closest branches are at Alton, Basingstoke, Chineham and Fleet,.
You can get information on all public libraries in Hampshire, including the full range of services on offer and opening times on the HCC website at: www.hants.gov.uk/library If you do not have access to the internet you can get information on public libraries by calling 0300 555 1387. Hampshire County Council Library Services also operate a Home Library Service and a Good Neighbour Service that may be of help if you are unable to visit the library.
