Tuesday – 3 Days to Go
Did you know….?
That the partnerships between Odiham, North Warnborough and RAF Odiham are truly entwined at all levels – be it local people descended from the many, many former RAF personnel who were once based there and who settled in the local area. To those people from the village who work on camp, and vice versa, as well as those RAF personnel and their families serving as local school governors, local sports team coaches, local volunteers in a whole range of areas, and many more.
On Odiham Parish Council, we have three serving members of the RAF who currently serve as councillors: Cllr Chris Greensides who represents the RAF Station ward, a current Chinook pilot and Flight Commander on 27 Squadron; Cllr Mike Tate, a senior NCO aircraft engineer and team leader; and Cllr Steve Bell, formerly the Deputy Chinook Force Commander and whose day job is now at the Defence Academy at Shrivenham.
Oh, and our wonderful Deputy Clerk, Bridie, is a military wife and so part of the wider RAF Family!
Odiham Parish Council proudly displays its Armed Forces Bronze Employer Recognition Award.
