Councillors unanimously agreed to re-elect Cllr Dr Angela McFarlane as OPC Chair at the Annual Council Meeting on 4th May.
A local council is a body corporate and has a separate legal personality to its members. A local council comprises of a Chairman and its members and Odiham Parish Council must elect a Chairman at the Annual Council Meeting every year. Although the Chairman’s position offers no individual powers or authority, it is the only position recognised in law.
Cllr McFarlane will hold the position until the Annual Council Meeting in 2022.
A local council may also chose to elect a vice-chair and Cllr John Raw was re-elected to hold this position until May 2022.
