With just a few days to go to the Coronation celebrations in Odiham, we have some important information to share with you that we hope will help the smooth running of the day.
Please take time to read this through and to make sure that all those joining you at your table are also aware of the information.
Firstly, there will be TWO events this year running at the same time from 12-4pm – the street party on the High Street which is a ticketed event and a community picnic at Beacon Field which is a free event and doesn’t require pre-booking. Picnicking is also allowed in the All Saints grounds and Chamberlain Gardens play area.
The choice is yours! However you chose to celebrate the day is absolutely fine with us, we just wanted to give everyone the opportunity of joining the celebrations.
The final few STREET PARTY tickets can be purchased here:
Parking:
We would encourage you to walk to the events. The High Street will be closed to traffic from 8am to the latest 7pm. The road closure will be from The Chemist to just past the Co-op.
Event parking is at Robert Mayβs School. The car park will be open from 11am to 5pm only. Please ensure all vehicles are removed by 5pm as the gates will be locked at this time.
Street party arrival:
Please arrive no earlier than 11.30am. There will be RAF Cadets and volunteers who will guide you to your table. On arrival to the High Street please wait to be directed to your table by the Cadets and volunteers. There will be groups of Cadets and marshalls at either end of the High Street and at King Street. Your patience and support will be greatly appreciated as we aim to seat you and your party as quickly as possible.
To help us to help you: please have with you and make sure all your guests have the NAME OF THE TICKET HOLDER.
Picnic arrival:
Please aim to arrive no earlier than midday as we need some vehicle access to set up equipment on the site.
Weather:
We will be watching the weather forecast closely. The forecast today looks promising but we can’t rely on the great British weather.
Street party – in the event of extreme adverse weather then a decision may be made the day before. Otherwise a final decision will be taken by 8am. All ticketholders will be emailed directly and details will be published on OPC’s Facebook and website. (It is unlikely the event will be cancelled for light showers).
Picnic – in the event of extreme adverse weather conditions then a decision on the picnic may be made 3 days before if the ground is already wet. Otherwise, a final decision will be taken by 8am on the day. Details will be published on OPC’s Facebook and website.
