NEW public electric vehicle charging points (EVCPs) coming to Odiham
Update received from Hart District Council today. The two agreed sites are The Bury car park and Deer Park View car park.
“As you are likely aware, Hart District Council has been pursuing a project to improve the infrastructure of electric charge points across the district to support the change to electric vehicles and need for more charging infrastructure in the UK. Previously, a full tender process was followed to identify a suitable provider who has since carried out detailed assessments to identify the type and final location of chargers. These electric car chargers are of minimal cost or risk to the council as the supplier pays for them to be installed and manages operational use.
We can confirm the expected installations to start soon by our provider MerUK and continue over the coming months.
For more information on how the chargers can be used, visit Mer’s information page for drivers: https://uk.mer.eco/public-charging/how-it-works/. Users will have a set period of free parking when correctly displaying a valid Electric Vehicle ticket (minimum no return within two hours). Further information on parking restrictions will be displayed on signage where electric vehicle charge points have been installed.”
