Odiham and North Warnborough commemorates the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in style!
Wow, what a party! Over 1,300 came together for “The Big Lunch” on Sunday, part of the official Jubilee programme. Seated at 220 tables running the length of Odiham High Street, party goers were entertained by music, entertainers and a Chinook flypast from RAF Odiham.
The event run by Odiham Parish Council was an outstanding success and was only made possible thanks to the dedication and hard work from councillors, staff, Air Cadets, voluntary organisations and RAF Odiham who worked tirelessly to make sure everyone enjoyed the day.
Odiham Parish Council Chair, Cllr Dr Angela McFarlane, says “It was a joy and a privilege to welcome so many guests to the OPC Platinum Jubilee Street Party – the largest so far for Odiham. The effort everyone made to decorate their tables and produce delicious picnics was a sight to behold. I particularly enjoyed all the corgis – as balloons, soft toys and at least one real live dog! Thank you so much to all those who made this possible.“
