Meet Leslie. Leslie is a local chap, whom many may recognise from seeing him out and about. So why the “Local Hero” tag?
Well, Leslie has a deep affinity with conservation and with preserving the local environment. He goes for a walk every day and you will often see him on his “patch” near Dunley’s Hill picking up litter and rubbish that sadly others have dumped and carefully disposing of it appropriately.
Leslie is also passionate about animal welfare and is recognised as something of an expert in nursing poorly creatures back to health – especially hedgehogs, but he has also even helped foxes, birds of prey and baby pigeons.
All Leslie’s actions are through his own sense of duty and social responsibility. It is people like him, who go about quietly and largely without thanks doing kind things for everyone in the parish.
So, a big thanks from us, Leslie, and keep it up!
