Andrea Mann, Odiham Parish Council Clerk, has been named a Clerk of the Year finalist for the National Association of Local Councils’ (NALC) Star Council Awards 2023.
Cllr Keith Stevens, NALC chair, commented on the announcement and said, “Congratulations to Andrea Mann. Your outstanding achievements have placed you among the best in your field, and this recognition is well-deserved. Your hard work, dedication, and talent have shone through, and it’s an honour to see you as a finalist for this prestigious award. Best of luck for the awards ceremony, and may your journey continue to be filled with success and inspiration. Your achievements serve as an inspiration to us all!”
The prestigious awards are the only awards in England that recognise the local (parish and town) council sector. They celebrate local councils, councillors, young councillors, clerks and county associations’ positive impact on their communities.
Andrea said “it’ a privilege to be nominated, let alone shortlisted, recognising the personal efforts that I (and all clerks) put into this busy and diverse role”.
Odiham Parish Council Chair, Cllr Angela McFarlane, says “Odiham Parish Council is delighted that our Clerk, Andrea Mann, has been short listed for this prestigious award. It is good to see her first class work for our community recognised in this way”.
The winners of the Star Council Awards will be announced during NALC’s highly anticipated parliamentary reception, which will take place on 29 November 2023 at the House of Lords. This event promises to be a memorable celebration of the outstanding contributions made by these finalists.
