After taking the precaution of cancelling the Conservation Volunteer gang due to the Met Office’s YELLOW weather warning, as the weather actually pretty good on Saturday morning, we pressed ahead with giving the Odiham War Memorial a bit of a tidy up. (To be fair, the heavens did open later, so I’m not entirely scornful of the old weather guessers…)
After a lovely Spring and a bit of rain, the shrubbery around the Memorial had sprouted and was looking a tad scruffy and in need of a tidy up. With a fair few weeds and moss also starting to predominate, volunteers Julie and Simon kindly gave up their time to square things away. 40 minutes of graft – and judicious use of OPC’s brush cutter – and everything was looking spick and span once again. Great work folks!!
